The State Forest Service Examination consists of the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination: Objective Type (General Studies & Aptitude). This is common with the State Service Exam.
- Main Examination: Written Examination (Subjective/Objective as per rule). Generally covers MP GK, Forestry, and Science.
- Interview: Personality Test for qualified candidates.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) & Medical: Qualifying nature.
- Paper 1 (GS): History, Culture, Geography, Polity, Economy of MP & India, Current Events, ICT.
- Paper 2 (CSAT): Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability, Basic Numeracy (Class 10th level).
- Mains Syllabus: Includes General Studies of MP, Forestry, Environment, Science & Technology, etc.
- Focus heavily on MP General Knowledge as it carries significant weightage.
- Practice CSAT (Aptitude) regularly if you are from a non-math background.
- For Mains, study Forestry and Environment topics from standard textbooks.
- Solve previous year question papers (PYQs) to understand the trend.
- Maintain physical fitness for the walking test (25km/14km walk).
